“Golden Light”

The sunsets are spectacular at my neighborhood beach. Visitors from all over come to this beach to see the colors and nature’s majesty. One summer evening my daughter and I drove down to see the show. The light was so incredible, golden and warm with sparks of purple in the clouds. I knew I’d paint this one and I quickly started the process in my studio a few days later.

Sometimes I don’t want to part with my paintings and I had a hard time saying goodbye to this one. It hung in a recent show for just one day before it was purchased. Now you can enjoy the soft golden light of Kenney’s beach in this print. Next time you’re visiting eastern Long Island come see the sunset for yourself.

This beach is in Southold at the end of Kenney’s Road. You can see Connecticut in the distance across the Long Island Sound.
