This watercolor was painted En Plein Air, loosely translated it means in the open air. I sat on the shore and sketched the scene in front of me, the sailboats in the distance are at the Orient Yacht Club. I love to capture the light and water in a coastal setting. Gardiner’s Bay is such a lovely spot on the NorthFork to paint.
